How to prevent complications?
- Stick to your dentist’s instructions.
- Leave the gauze under pressure for 20 minutes to stop the bleeding.
- After that you gently take out and then are not allowed to eat or drink for two hours.
- Do not rinse your mouth on the first day and brush gently.
- Do not spit, the spit creates a vacuum in the mouth that can detach the blood clot from the socket.
- Eat and drink only soft and cold foods or drinks.
- Do not smoke! Smoking increases the chance of a dry socket at 48 hours after extraction.
- Avoid finger or tongue stimulation at the extraction site.
